Truth or Drink
Prompts that deepen honesty and spark meaningful conversations.
What it's for: Go deeper than surface-level conversation without the awkward pauses.
How to play Truth or Drink
- Pick a tier — from gentle to very honest — and start a round.
- One partner reads a prompt; the other answers truthfully or takes the drink (or your chosen non-drinker penalty).
- Swap roles each prompt so you both open up equally.
- Save any answer as a memory in your shared space so the good stuff isn't lost to the night.
When to play it
Anniversary dinners, lazy hotel nights on trips, or anytime a relationship feels slightly stale and needs oxygen.

How to get more out of Truth or Drink
Set the penalty before the first prompt
The drink is optional and always has been. Agree on the alternative first — a chore, a forfeit, or simply passing — so nobody feels pressured into drinking to avoid a question.
Swap roles every prompt
If one partner reads all the prompts, they end up interviewing the other. Alternating means you both spend the same amount of time answering, which is where the value is.
Start a tier below where you think you are
The gentle tiers do more work than couples expect, and it is much easier to escalate mid-round than to walk back a question that landed badly.
The mistake most couples make
Playing it late, tired, and several drinks in. Honest questions need enough energy to hear the answer properly; the round that felt profound at 1am is the one couples most often regret.
Frequently asked questions
Do we have to drink to play?
No. Midnight lets you swap the 'drink' for any penalty — push-ups, a chore, a forfeit — so non-drinkers play the same.
Are the prompts safe for a long-term couple?
Prompts are tiered so you can dial intensity up or down. You can also skip any prompt for any reason, no score penalty.
Can we save answers to re-read later?
Yes — tap the heart and it goes into your shared memories, searchable by date or tag.
