Editorial policy & team
Midnight's blog is written by the Midnight Editorial Team — the same small group of product designers, writers, and researchers who build the app. We publish what we'd want to read as a couple, not SEO-stuffed advice we'd roll our eyes at.
Who writes here
Every Midnight blog post is written or reviewed by a member of the Midnight Editorial Team. The team is a small group of product and writing staff at Midnight with hands-on experience building relationship and wellness software, plus outside contributors with lived experience in the topics they write about (long-distance relationships, queer partnerships, parenting, and so on).
We don't outsource to anonymous content mills. We don't publish AI-generated articles that haven't been heavily rewritten and fact-checked by a human on our team.
What we will and won't claim
- We will share frameworks, prompts, and patterns we've seen work in our own relationships and in the research we read.
- We will cite primary sources and link out to experts when we reference research.
- We won't claim to be therapists, medical professionals, or diagnosticians. We are not.
- We won't publish content that treats one relationship structure (monogamous, married, heterosexual, child-rearing) as the default.
- We won't run sponsored posts disguised as editorial. If a post is sponsored, we'll say so at the top — and we don't currently run any.
How we source and review
Posts that cover research (communication patterns, attachment, conflict, mental health) are cross-checked against peer-reviewed sources. Posts that cover lived experience (long-distance tips, parenting with a partner) are reviewed by a team member or contributor with direct experience in that situation.
When a post covers a topic adjacent to mental health or therapy, we explicitly flag that the content is not a substitute for professional help and point to appropriate resources.
Corrections and updates
Research moves. Framings get sharper. If a post is materially updated, we bump its dateModified and add a short note at the top explaining what changed. If we got something wrong, email contact@getmidnight.app and we'll correct it — we'll note the correction publicly on the post.
Affiliate links and monetization
The Midnight blog does not currently run affiliate links, display advertising, or sponsored content. Our only business model is the Midnight app itself, which is free with optional paid features. If this changes, we'll update this page before any monetized content goes live.
